It’s overwhelming to shop for curtains sometimes. This is mostly because there are just so many choices to choose from. Different rods, different colours, different fabrics and now different curtain styles. Most of the time they don’t even come cheap. So replacing them can be quite a heavy blow to your wallet when the time is right for it.
A little maintenance can’t hurt though. It won’t be as expensive if you just clean and wash the curtains once in a while so you won’t have to worry about replacing it.
But just to give you a little info on what to get, here are different types of curtains to consider and choose from.
- Tab top curtains
- Rod pocket curtains
- Pinch pleated curtains
- Tailored pleat curtains
- Goblet pleat curtains
- Sheer curtains
- Pelmets and valances
- Hanging curtains
- Box pleated curtains
- Eyelet curtains
Of course, getting these types of curtains don’t really mean anything if you don’t know how to do maintenance on them. Replacing them can be one of the most hassling chores out of the list you probably have conducted already. This is mostly due to the fact that it sounds easy than it is supposed to be. But oh boy, it really isn’t.
Curtains are heavy, alright? Curtains aren’t just the fabric that the majority of it is made out of. It’s also the metal that holds itself up. It is very difficult to replace if you’re alone, depending on the kind you got. Some of them have lighter fabric and lighter holders, but those are the lower quality ones that get damaged easily.
If you aren’t careful with how you handle this, you could drop the heavy thing over your furniture and break something, which would DEFINITELY make your entire day better. A little tip? Have a little help when you replace curtains. The rest of your chores, you can probably do alone if there isn’t any heavy lifting involved, but the curtain replacing needs at least two sets of hands to handle.
Going bare windowed?
Well, it certainly does give you the bright light you need. Sometimes, after taking down the curtains to be washed, the windows would look so much better without them. Simply because the light that comes in from the window is so nice. It makes the whole room feel spacier and brighter. Even if your curtains were smaller and lighter than the usual, having none is still kind of refreshing.
Up until night comes that is.
Nothing is creepier than having bare windows at night. Could you imagine the amount of creepers that could look at whatever it is you’re doing inside the house from the window? This is why we have curtains. Don’t underestimate the power of those shielders, yeah? They bring privacy as well as beauty to the home.
